The rules, in short (EU 261)10
- Delay: you reach your destination 3h+ late. Under 3h, there is no compensation amount.
- Cancelled: under 14 days' notice can qualify. 14 days or more usually doesn't.
- Denied boarding or overbooking: the same €250 / €400 / €600 bands.
- Missed connection: only if you land at your final stop 3h+ late because of the first flight.
- Up to 1,500 km, €250. Up to 3,500 km, €400. Over that, €600.
- Extraordinary circumstances can block the cash. Severe weather and air traffic control are examples.
- Care is separate from cash: food after a long wait, a hotel if you're stuck overnight. The airline provides it. We don't book it.
- Bags delayed, lost or damaged: the Montreal limit is about 1,519 SDR. A ceiling, not a promise. We prepare the letter. We don't pay it.
- Fee: 25% only if the airline pays. No win, no fee. Nothing to pay up front.
- A check takes about 2 minutes. On many EU routes you can often claim up to 3 years back.
